The Ridge Hojicha Powder
Discover the subtly sweet and delightfully roasted flavor of Hojicha Powder. Unlike traditional green teas, Hojicha is made from roasted green tea leaves, giving it a warm, toasty aroma and a smooth, mellow taste with hints of caramel and chocolate. Naturally low in caffeine, this deep brown powder is perfect for lattes or baking. If you’re a matcha lover, definitely give this a try—a great alternative to matcha if you’re sensitive to caffeine and want an afternoon drink! Grown in the Shizuoka prefecture in Japan.
Contains caffeine.
Method:
Pour 1 tsp of Hojicha powder through a sifter into a bowl.
Add 3 to 4 oz (about 1/4 cup) of water and your sweetener of choice.
Use a chasen (matcha whisk) to froth the Hojicha until glossy and foamy (about 30 seconds).
Add milk of choice.
Once opened, hojicha powder will be at its prime for 3 months. After 3 months, the hojicha looses its’ potency over time, but is still delicious. Store in the refrigerator for maximum freshness.
