Our Organic Green Yaupon is grown by Yaupon Brothers based in Edgewater, Florida on a forest farm. Similar to its cousin the Yerba Maté plant of South America, Yaupon also contains minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids. Yaupon contains about 30% less caffeine than coffee, and has a nice energy boost without the jitteriness of coffee. Indigenous people of the Florida region (mainly the Timucua) believed Yaupon cleanses the mind and body of those who drank it. Tastes very similar to Yerba Mate (grassy, herby), but has a bit of a sweetness to it. If you love Yerba Maté, definitely give Yaupon a try!

Fun fact: Yaupon is the only naturally caffeinated plant species that grows in the US and most of North America.

Steeping Suggestions:

Hot: 212°F Amount: 2 tsp. of tea. Steep: 5-10 minutes

Iced: Steep 1 oz of tea overnight (or 8-12 hours) in 1 liter of water.

Contains Caffeine.
